Introduction to Diversion

One of the implications of the Child Justice Act is that children should be diverted away from the Criminal Justice System.

What does this mean for Bosasa Youth Centres; it means that the programmes that we already have can now be extended to children who will be diverted from the Criminal Justice System and not only to those in detention at our Secure Care Facilities. Children can now attend programmes whilst being at home. Our programmes have been aligned to the norms and standards of Diversion and we are awaiting the accreditation framework process. The Act makes provision for children to be diverted to an Educational, vocation or therapeutic programme. Scroll on to vocational, educational or therapeutic to see the programmes offered.
