Youth Development Centres MTC USA Tour
Bosasa is continually aware of the importance of exposing the youth to positive experiences and supporting tomorrow’s leaders.
Our very own Youth Development Centre (BYC) recently paid a visit to Bosasa’s valued international partner, MTC USA, where they were given the opportunity to meet with their peers at the 63rd Denver, Colorado Correctional Association Conference.
The convention supplied the BYC with invaluable information on observing implementation programmes, learning best practices and the partnership between Bosasa and MTC.
According to YDC leader, Thandi Makoko, MTC runs prisons all over the world. We have realised that there are awesome parallels and synergies in the Bosasa-MTC relationship.”
The BYC and their American counterparts reviewed and discussed important industry subjects such as the growing role of women in the justice system, the differences and similarities between the South African and US legislation process, public-private joint ventures, job creation and the impact of BYC’s counterpart, The “Look out” Mountain Youth Facility.
