ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Organisational development is central to providing exceptional standards in service and practice. We have developed the effectiveness of our organisation in two ways: by optimising information management systems and by empowering our staff. These are the building blocks of service excellence and create an environment in which people and operational systems work together in a dynamic synergy.

PURPOSE

BOSASA’s purpose is to provide sustainable, innovative and benchmarked services in developing and managing secure-care programmes and facilities. By continually optimising the information management systems that connect an established network of Youth Centres under the BOSASA Group, we are able to implement the strategies that support award-winning services.

IN AN EVALUATION BY INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS, 4 CHAKRAS, IT WAS NOTED THAT THE OUTSOURCED SERVICES MANAGED BY BOSASA WERE VASTLY SUPERIOR IN THREE KEY AREAS:


  • Quality
  • Capability
  • Management
It was recorded that BOSASA provides a high standard of care, facilitated by successful implementation through human resources and professional management overall. According to this same evaluation, we not only met but exceeded the minimum norms and standards, with our notable service delivery far surpassing that of many other facilities.

GOAL

Successful organisations must change and adapt. Meeting this transformation head on means implementing a development strategy that enhances relevance and viability. BOSASA’s strategy includes streamlined information management systems, which make communication and cooperation seamless. Supported by the well-established core infrastructure, and our Group’s technical systems, optimal knowledge management systems and technology are a part of the fully integrated information network serving the national footprint of our Youth Centres.

Ultimately, the goal is to continually perfect these evolving information management systems, which allow us to monitor, evaluate and provide exceptional service in a manner encompassing best practices.

PEOPLE

If a business is a living organism, then people can be considered the lifeblood that animates it. The most successful organisations are built around individuals and BOSASA is no different - people are our greatest assets. BOSASA believes that by giving individuals the chance to improve themselves, they help shape our organisation, as well as South Africa as a whole. By providing skills transfer, in which employees are equipped with expertise that will serve them across many competencies, BOSASA empowers staff members to confidently perform a variety of valued tasks.
Our encouragement of career growth is backed by specialised training that facilitates a skilled labour force. This is why BOSASA employees also undergo intensive mentorship, as well as training and development programmes such as:
  • Training provided by the prestigious Watson Corporate Academy.
  • Accredited Further Education and Training Certificates for Professional Practice in Child and Youth Care.
As BOSASA staff members work together for the greater good of the young lives in their care, all staff members are trained in Child & Youth Care, irrespective of their role in the organisation.
