Vocational Programmes



PROGRAMME PURPOSE
Furniture Making - Wood The Furniture Making Wood Programme teaches the young person to correctly and safely produce basic hand crafted furniture.
Furniture Making Wood - Upholstery The Furniture Making Wood Upholstery Programme teaches the young person to cover a prepared frame using basic upholstery hand tools in a safe manner and in line with standards.
Bricklaying The Bricklaying Programme provides an introduction into construction practice. Learners will be employed in the construction industry where the combination of practical work and theoretical class room training will empower new entrants to the construction industry.
Plumbing The Plumbing Programme teaches the young person to perform basic plumbing functions. Carrying out the assembly and maintenance of components for above and below ground drainage systems as well as water supply systems.
Arc Welding The Arc Welding Programme teaches the young person different welding processes such as braze metal using oxy-fuel gas process and flux-core welding process in all positions.
Sewing The Sewing Programme provides learners with the standards and the range of learning required to work effectively in the clothing manufacturing industry and to meet the challenges of each of such an environment.
Catering The Catering Programme is comprised of two Skills Programmes: Food Service Assistant and Cook Convenience Foods. These programmes are suitable for learners who assist in the cleaning and preparation of food service areas and equipment and who prepare a limited range of mainly convenience foods.
Arts and Crafts The Arts and Crafts Programme teaches the young person to accumulate ideas for different designs creatively within a safe working environment.
ABET The ABET Programme teaches the young person basic literacy and numeracy principles. This programme assists young people whom cannot read and write as well as those who have dropped out of school.
Computer Literacy The Computer Literacy Programme teaches the learner to develop and use keyboard skills to enter text and operate a computer. Basic Word Processing, Excel and PowerPoint are taught.
